The Carriage House, built in 1814, is a two-story brick building. It is where Thomas Birkby and his family, perhaps one of the last coach makers on the East Coast, practiced their trade until 1903. The Birkby's manufactured carriages, coaches and buggies on the second floor and kept their horses on the ground level.

Today the Carriage House has been completely refurbished and is a self-contained meeting and event facility and staging area for tented events. WiFi is available.

The ground floor contains a caterer’s prep kitchen and bathroom facilities. These facilities serve the needs of meeting attendees as well as guests attending banquets and receptions in the tent or gardens. The upstairs meeting room accommodates 30 to 50 guests for a conference or dinner party. The room has ten-foot high ceilings ideal for films and presentations. The upstairs room is also an excellent location for an indoor wedding ceremony or for children to play during a summer wedding reception.

The upper level of the Carriage House is not handicapped accessible.
