The Birkby House will delight you with enchanting ambiance to grace your special day.

At the Birkby House, you and your reception party are free to wander through lovely gardens that display their distinctive seasonal color, or assemble under the tent in a tranquil setting where up to 180 guests may gather for lunch or dinner followed by dancing. Smaller receptions may be held inside the Birkby House, where up to 50 guests can enjoy a seated dinner. A terrace extends the area.

For the ceremony itself, the bride and groom may choose to gather their guests in front of the historic coach house, in front of the gazebo or in a specially designated area of the gardens. Our unconventional one-event-a-day policy; with your choice of any eight-hour period for your wedding ceremony, reception and festivities, will ensure that you and your guests enjoy a carefree day in gracious surroundings. You and your guests can look forward to a delightful, leisurely day while splendid memories will linger for a lifetime.

For wedding day preparations, we offer private sanctuaries and dressing areas on the second floor of the residence for the bride and for the groom. The bride and bridesmaids will have exclusive use of the Bride's Salon and Powder Room, while the groom and groomsmen will enjoy similar accommodations in the Gentlemen's Lounge.

The bright, cheerful bride’s salon, with its full-length mirror and private porch overlooking the terrace and gardens, envelops the bride and her attendants in simple charm and creates an inner sanctum to begin the day. Beautifully decorated with exquisite artwork, it connects with a bathroom that features seating, a wall of mirror, a dress-length closet, and even a refrigerator.

The groom’s lounge, separate from the bride’s and at the opposite end of the second floor, also features a refrigerator and adjoins a convenient bathroom. This room connects with a boardroom where ushers or family members may wish to assemble

A large second story porch serves as an inviting gathering place. This porch, which has a wonderful view of the gardens, is the perfect place for the bride to toss her bouquet.
